Far in the north of the world, on the Golden Isle, the Elf King Thalian sits upon his throne, his people and his kingdom isolated from the rest of the world following a great personal tragedy.
One day he takes Amaya, a farm girl from a nearby village, prisoner after she travels through the treacherous Golden Wood in search of her missing father.
What begins as a terrifying ordeal soon starts to morph into something quite different, something that neither elf or human would have ever expected, even as both of their worlds violently collide.
Can Amaya, a mere mortal girl, truly melt the ice encased heart of an Elvenking?
And even if she could would it matter when, in the end, one is immortal and one is not...
